POSITION PURPOSE |
- The Application Support Specialist provides stability, performance, and continuous improvement of applications by providing expert support, managing AWS infrastructure, contributing to development efforts, and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance system reliability and support processes.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Perform routine AWS tasks including backups, log reviews, certificate renewals, patch management, and performance/cost optimization to support data partners, internal teams, and applications developed by Data Solutions
- Assist with administration of UHBI DevOps tools; Redmine, Gitea, TeamCity, Octopus, SFTP, etc.
- Provide analysis and validation, focusing primarily on clinical data to support our data submitters
- Collaborate with developers to improve site performance, reduce downtime, and enhance user experience
- Document incident resolutions, Standard Operating Procedures, and system behavior for knowledge sharing and compliance
- Log activities in case management system to support reporting for identifying opportunities for future development
- Provide backup to user access requests for UHBI products to ensure a timely response rate
- Assist with responding to requests for archived data from legacy EMR system
- Participate in continuous improvement meetings, retrospectives, and team stand-ups to share insights and propose optimizations
- Comply with organization’s internal policies and procedures, Code of Conduct, Compliance Plan, along with applicable
Federal, State, and local regulations- Keep abreast of industry and product advances and best practices
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS |
Minimum Qualifications- Education: Associates degree in a technical field like computer science, information systems, or a related field. Comparable experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Information Systems, or related field
- Proficiency in SQL and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Knowledge of database management systems, data integration tools, and analytics platforms
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on data accuracy, integrity, and security
- Willingness to learn new technical skills to benefit the department and the organization
- Experience in coordinating and managing projects, ensuring timely deliverables and efficient resource allocation
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including technology teams, analysts, and department stakeholders
- Demonstrated commitment to staying updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data management and software development
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (eg. Medicare/Medicaid)
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office suite
Preferred Qualifications- C# programming experience preferred
- Experience considering the impacts of the work on multiple communities, including communities of color, in technical analysis
- Experience working on a diverse team
- Experience working with different communication styles
- Bi-lingual translation or translation capabilities a plus
